Terms & Conditions
1. GENERAL CONDITIONS
By submitting the Application Form, the artist agrees to these Terms and Conditions, which govern participation in the Touchlines of Fortitude Exhibition at The Beach Gallery (24 Sept -5 Oct 2025).
2. SELECTION
Artworks will be selected by a curatorial committee. The decision is final and non-negotiable. Selected artists will be notified shortly after 1st September 2025.
3. DELIVERY & COLLECTION
- Artworks must be delivered in person or via courier to The Beach Gallery, 197 Waldegrave Rd, Teddington TW11 8LX on 21 September 2025.
- Collection of unsold works is 5 October after 5pm or 6 October 2025.
- Artists are responsible for all delivery/collection costs.
- Works delivered late, damaged, or improperly prepared may be rejected.
- Late collection incurs £5/day per artwork. After 3 months, uncollected works may be sold or disposed of. Proceeds will not be returned unless agreed in writing.
4. LIABILITY
- The gallery accepts no liability for loss or damage during transit, storage, or exhibition unless due to proven negligence by gallery staff.
- Artists are strongly advised to insure their works for the full duration of the exhibition, including transport.
5. DAMAGE DURING EXHIBITION
If a work is damaged on-site, the gallery will inform the artist and assist with documentation for insurance. No liability is assumed beyond the gallery's proven negligence.
6. PRESENTATION & LABELLING
You are required to adhere to our presentation and labelling rules of entry which are as follows:
Hanging Work (2D artworks)
• Frames must be secure and rigid with no exposed glass edges.
• Suitable unframed canvases may also be hung but the visible sides must contain no nails or staples and the painted image must either continue over the whole side or finish with a neat edge and with the sides either unpainted or painted in a single colour.
• Frames and wires/string must be robust enough to hang safely for the duration of the exhibition. We reserve the right to withdraw paintings that do not meet these criteria
All work must be complete with a secure cord or wire on screw eyes or D-rings (Note: not open hooks), positioned approximately one third of the way down from the top of the frame on each side.
Block canvases should have screw eyes within the depth of the canvas and not protruding from the back, this is to ensure paintings hang correctly on the The Beach Gallery hanging system.
Please DO NOT use frames with only a single hanging bracket as these are IMPOSSIBLE to mount on the wire hooks.
7. COMMISSION & SALES
- A 20% commission applies to all sales. Prices must include this.
- The gallery handles sales and pays artists within 30 days of sale by bank transfer.
- If a buyer returns a work within 14 days, the gallery may reverse the payment.
8. PRIVATE SALES
- Any private sale during the exhibition period is subject to the gallery's 20% commission.
- Sale through the gallery takes precedence.
9. IMAGE RIGHTS & PUBLICITY
By submitting work, the artist grants The Beach Gallery the right to use images for:
- Promotional materials
- Online/printed marketing
- Press, social media, website, and exhibition catalogue
10. DATA PROTECTION
All personal data will be managed per GDPR regulations. Information will not be shared with third parties without consent.
11. ONLINE SALES
Selected works may be offered online. Artists not wishing to participate must inform the gallery in writing during submission.
12. ELIGIBILITY
- Open to artists aged 18+.
- Max three submissions per artist.
- Works must align with the "Female resilience" theme.
- Accepted media: painting, photography, ceramics, yarn art, small sculpture.
14. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Disputes will be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Parties agree to attempt informal resolution before taking legal action.
